HELP, Graphics card
« on: December 09, 2013, 07:30:18 PM »
I am currently looking for a new graphics card for my computer to mine with.
I am currently using my HD Radeon 6970, and getting around 300kh/s

I have $400 to spend, And am currently looking at the Radeon R9 680x
Can anyone tell me how this one would go? And if i should get a different one or not?
Also would i be able to crossfire?

Hello. Crossfire only works within the same series of cards. 6970 and 7970 (R9 280x) not compatible for crossfire.

R9 280X getting around 700khash. See this topic - http://infinitecointalk.org/index.php/topic,252.msg3469.html#new.
Sorry for my poor English

R9 280x - agreed.
Crossfire does not help cgminer mining at all.  In fact, it actually hinders performance slightly.

But, as said above, only works for identical cards.

No worries, If I still put both cards in, Could i mine with both but seperately?

Well, you can use both to mine... not problem... just don't crossfire-connect them.

You CAN have them mining separate coins on different pools - I think you just need to run two instances of cgminer.  I've not done it myself tho.

Thankyou, DW i wont corssfire them, Seeing as i cant.
And yes will run two different miners for each, Or use one to mine and the other just to game with while mining
