help setting up cgminer
« on: December 15, 2013, 09:00:08 PM »
hey guys.. i've got my first rig built and I'm trying to connect to ifc.scryptmining but i'm having trouble.

-cgminer is downloaded and placed in c:/

-client is downloaded and conf file is created and put in /roaming/infinitecoin

question: do i need a bat file?

when i run the command prompt with the cgminer.exe file, it asks for url, worker, and pass, i type all of them in and then the command prompt says something so quickly i cannot read it and it closes... then i made a bat file and it actually worked in the command prompt but said, probing for alive pool, and wouldn't connect to anything. I could really use some help here. Any help is appreciated!! thanks.

Sure you need a BAT File for your CGminer.
You have to write your username and PW in the Bat.

Do you use AMD or Nvidia cards ?

yes, i figured it out finally, and thank you for responding. I'm using gigabyte r9 290's, just got them today. but last night, when i posted my question, i was running r9 270's and getting 5 or 6 hw's per card, and then they would shut off after about an hour and i would have to re-up them again.

I hope I will not run into the same problem with the r9 290's. I'm not sure what the best settings are for them, if you could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. I was getting about 440 hash per card at three cards last night, but the approximated hash at my pool, showed only 400-700 for all of them together, then finally jumped up to about 1100-1200 after fiddling with the settings, some.

Still having some issues syncing the wallet, i've downloaded 1.8.5, not quit clicking in yet, but I'm sure it will work. Best! -rc
