Cgminer Tip for HD 7870XT/LE, 7950, 6950, 5850 owners

Hi all :)

On a hunch, I changed the shaders value in Cgminer from 1536 to 2048, even though the Tahiti LE core has 25% of its shaders disabled.

To my surprise, the rejects dramatically decreased and I have yet to see a hardware error.

Please help me confirm my findings by trying this on any gpu with shaders disabled.

For example, the cgminer shaders would be set to 1536, instead of the standard 1408 on a 6950. Likewise a 5850 would be set to 1536, instead of the norm 1440.

I have not seen the performance increase.. but you might.

Seems like you might have had a configuration problem to start... and just got rid of it.

I'm running 7950s (16 of them) with:

,
"temp-target" : "75",
"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : true,
"intensity" : "20",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"kernel" : "scrypt",
"lookup-gap" : "0",
"thread-concurrency" : "16384",
"shaders" : "0",
"api-port" : "4028",
"expiry" : "120",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"gpu-fan" : "5-100",
"temp-cutoff" : "85",
"temp-overheat" : "80",
"gpu-engine" : "850-1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1000",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,

"scan-time" : "60",
"scrypt" : true,
"shares" : "0",
"no-submit-stale" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"

and seeing ~650kh/s per card.    Reject rate is 9/9692 or 0.093%

Thanks for sharing your config C1010010. I will definitely try them.

But tbh, I wasn't asking for that. lol I should have worded the OP a little better.

If you would like to help, plz set your shaders to 2048 and tell me if it helps in any way. eg performance, lowers rejects ect..

Btw, getting your just reward feels good... doesn't it ?! :)

I've just started mining with a 5850. With an average of 330 khs. I use BAMT and it works like a charm!
